Prepworks Education is an education-focused organization that was founded by John Luger and Darren Lin in May 2023. 

Prepworks began as a tutoring service for students in the Rochester, NY region. We quickly expanded to YouTube, where we've amassed a following of nearly 10,000 subscribers. Our latest projects include Spike, our blog, and college application services.

We cover a wide variety of subjects and concentrations including the following: 

• English K-12, including: ENL support, AP English Language & Composition, AP English Literature & Composition

• Social Studies K-12, including Global History & Geography I and II, United States History, AP World History: Modern, AP United States History

• Math K-12, including Algebra I & II, Geometry, Precalculus, AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB/BC, Calculus III, Linear Algebra, Ordinary Differential Equations

• Science K-12, including Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, AP Chemistry, AP Physics I/C: Mech/C: E&M

• German 1-2, Spanish 1-4, French 1-4

• Music Theory, Studio Art, Drawing, select Instrumental Music, other Arts Electives

Availability may be limited for courses that reside outside the core curriculum (including APs, the arts, foreign languages, etc.). 

We offer a variety of tutoring services for students in Rochester, NY. 

Drop-In Tutoring (Middle School & High School Level)

Students of Twelve Corners Middle School, Brighton High School, and Pittsford Mendon High School can go to their respective school libraries after school on select dates to receive tutoring and/or homework help. A calendar is posted and easily accessible to all. 

Scheduled Tutoring (All Levels)

Kids of all ages in the Brighton and Pittsford school districts can schedule to meet with a tutor for a one-on-one session via a Microsoft form. By assessing personality fits and subject levels, we match each tutee to their ideal tutor – but we can change tutors if necessary. Once assigned a tutor, parents/guardians, students, and tutor work together to schedule lessons, which may be virtual or in person. 

Workshops & Regents/Final Test Review Classes (High School Level)

Throughout the school year, Prepworks offers workshops on important high school topics including essay writing, test-taking strategies, college admissions, and more. Beginning in May, Prepworks offers Regents/final exam group review sessions in the BHS/MHS libraries to quickly and efficiently disseminate information needed to ace the exam. Dates for each session are posted on the same calendar.  

Video Library & Content 

In addition to our tutoring services, Prepworks produces quality videos which aim to cover core subjects, especially those pertaining to the Regents, that are readily accessible and available. All video content is published on YouTube and housed here on our website.

Our tutoring services and educational resources are available to all!

Simply put, we cannot afford to offer these services for free; demand would be too high and we would be unable to keep up. We try our best to align with our mission, though; the costs of our services are a fraction of those charged by most major college consulting firms.
